Sahar is a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying), has a MSc in Developmental Psychology, and is an MACP candidate at Yorkville University.

She acknowledges the courage it takes to seek help, believes her clients to be true experts of their own lives, and meets them where they are in their story with non-judgment and empathy. She is naturally perceptive, and pays great attention to subtleties that come up for her clients in the moment.

With Psychoanalytic education, she helps clients discover and process unconscious thoughts, memories, feelings and desires, dream recollections, or past trauma and childhood memories. She has specialized in childhood attachment styles and how early experiences affect individuals on a deep level. With a relational approach, she helps her clients overcome unresolved earlier experiences and trauma.

Combined with her training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples individuals, she helps her clients facilitate management, awareness and regulation of emotions. For couples, this includes helping the partners with communication, conflict and intimacy issues. Her graduate research focused on culturally-informed practices in treating depression. She continues her to educate herself on sexual and gender identity, and LGBTQIA issues.

Sahar has experience working in acute psychiatric units with clients from teen, adult and geriatric populations. As part of her training and experience, she is familiar with working with clients who are in crisis, have experienced PTSD, and addiction.

As a Registered Behavioral Therapist, Sahar has served children, teens and adults with ADD, ADHD, and Autism and their families, and is an advocate for Neurodiversity. She is well versed in the challenges of living with developmental disabilities. Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness and artistic experiential approaches complement her techniques to process trauma on a mind and body connection level.

Sahar has rich lived experiences with immigration issues, acculturation, and culture shock on a personal and professional level. Her personal and Educational background involve processing intergenerational trauma, grief, and management of chronic pain. She has deep understanding of perfectionism: the process of unlearning its tendencies, striving to live an authentic life, dealing with co-dependency and relationship issues. She believes living as a false self and not processing trauma can dysregulate the nervous system, presenting with anxiety, depression and physiological symptoms.
